Mouth of Oblivion

by Wrath and Ruin

supported by
GeN2Mo
GeN2Mo thumbnail
GeN2Mo A mixture of Industrial Metal and sludgy guitarwork that is suprisingly focussed on atmosphere and ambiance.
The deeply heavy and melancholic sound, sometimes evoking memories of Blade Runner, makes this clearly stand out. Favorite track: Remnant.

Remnant 04:47
Our hearts, our skin. Our silence - our sin. Suffer the weight – no reason for bearing the cross of civilization. Slaves of civilization. Our trials - outlast. Salvation at hand. Sovereign at last. Subject to none – no reason for bearing the cross. Steel yourself now. I lead the way. Throw their reign loose. I walk away from civilization. Throes of civilization. Waves of civilization. I kneel for no man.
2.
Lifeform 04:51
Is this husk all we are? Flesh and bone made automatons. Is this all we’re meant to be - A crude implement in servitude? Savage, thoughtless, carnal, benighted. Senseless, endless – the war of All against All. Helpless – coerced to the ground. Manifest – transcend the deceit. Luminous – evolve into this: Limitless. Is this shell all we are? It’s our fate for failed eminence. Is this all we’re meant to be? Seek inside, reveal divinity.
3.
(I see the fear in my eyes.) Fire rains, rains down from the sky. Seas boil, rivers run with blood. Black ash swallows up the light. Darkness shadows us. I want to see, to believe nothing’s real. I’ve lost all hope, take my breath, take my life. Deliver me to the arms of Abyss. Grim fate, there is no time left. Blind greed, old fears summon this. Torment, visions of the past. Destroy faith in fellow man. We’ve done all this to ourselves. (I am the light) No hope, death calls me. (I am the light) Hold the light.

Ritual 04:15
We sail through this broken sky. Descend to the solemn night - Refuge from temporal eyes. Endless, we search for intention. Transform; renew our animus. Reach out for truth beyond the pale - A course unknown to all but us. Fathom meaning in nothingness - This quest engaged in apathy. A lapse of will to carry through - Our fate consigned to indifference. Harbor regret for deeds undone. Our path, a test of frailty. Aimless we drift into the fire. A bleak resolve for righteousness.

7.
The Bug 06:45
Life is suffering. It’s surfacing. Your right – your victim. Survive – your victim. Alive – your victim. Divine – your victim. Survive – the end is near. Survive – the end is here. Survive – the end is clear. Survive – the end is here. Your heart is mine. Your fate is mine.
8.
Contagion 04:24
Defenseless, my plague corrupts. You fall to my coercion. Empty thoughts await decree. Lulled into mock peace of mind. Abscond your self, soul and cast. Raise the swarm; defend the hive. Release this ghost! Denounce false creed! Believe this – as one we reign. None peerless – weak-willed, subdued. Fear dissent, you are safe here. Cede me your self, soul and cast. Free from choice – calm and secure. Release this ghost! Denounce false creed! Break free! Reclaim! My path my own!

This fear descends. Despair’s embrace. Predict failure. Total collapse. I will not bend. I will not break. Strength of spirit. Strength of blood. I will not yield. I will not fail. Strength of body. Strength of will.

Beyond the veil Beyond my eyes Find my soul See this through You’ll find a way Through the void You’ll find a way home

about

Lawrence, KS-based musical colossus WRATH AND RUIN lift the veil on their debut album, Mouth of Oblivion - an orchestrated descent into a vast maelstrom where density meets melody and doom-soaked riffing, thunderous grooves and consciousness-altering soundscapes fuse to create an album both memorable and profound.

Mouth of Oblivion takes you to the brink of extremity and hangs you over the edge into a storm of sensory overload and aural devastation on an apocalyptic scale.
